Activexpressions, Reading and Scotland!

During January we have been very busy learning a lot about numbers. We have been mainly concentrating on addition to 20. We have been busy using the Activexpressions to complete, assess and record our mental addition and subtraction work and we are all doing really well.

We are working just as hard with our literacy skills and trying to become better readers, we have been focusing on fluency and expression. Our Read, Write, Inc books have been helping us to use Freddy Fingers to spell out words when we are writing.

During January we also looked at food around the world as part of our health and wellbeing lessons, enjoyed lots of Scottish themed activities during Scottish week. made our own Nessie pictures using the technique of layering in art and we have been printing our own tartan in maths when looking at repeating patterns.
